McGruff also known as "Herb McGruff" is an American, Undergound Hip Hop rapper from Harlem, New york. Protege of Heavy D, He was in the now defunct hip hop group Children of the corn, founded by Big L, which included McGruff, Murda mase (Mase), Killa Kam (Cam'ron), Digga, and Cam'ron's cousin Bloodshed. both Mase and Cam'ron left the group to pursue basketball careers and Big L and Bloodshed died before the crew could become successful.

Rapper McGruff debuted in 1995 on Big L's Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous and also appeared with Heavy D on Monifah's "I Miss You." Signed to his own contract, for Uptown/Universal, the Harlem rapper dropped his debut single, "Before We Start," in early 1998. The album Destined to Be followed in June, with appearances from Heavy D, the LOX, and Mase.
Of the "Destined To Be" album, he released a videosingle "How We Do" featuring Mr. Cheeks (From Lost Boys). the video have cameos by Big L, CamRon, Took Da Boss and other fellow Harlemites.

Mcgruff is still rapping in the underground of harlem, with his crew named "LCN Entertaiment" (Dream Team) - under the name Gruff. LCN contains rappers such as: Mcgruff, The Bloxx, Tycoon Dune and Took Da Boss (Good Friend of Big L's). So far they released two underground videos for the songs "The Comin" and "Harlem World Anthem".

The song "Harlem Kids Get Biz" was sampled on Harlem Streets by Immortal Technique, the chorus samples the verse "Homicide Harlem blow.. whats the problem?".
